Odaiba: the japanese croisette ;) 3

I've just told you: famous places!
Here it's like "la grande arche" in La Defense in Paris!
The Fuji TV building: the star of the artificial island!
It's right, I didn't told you about that...
Odaiba has been built by the humans!!!!

Euh... I think that's "la flamme de la liberte"...
... and a wonderful sunset!
It has been created and brought by a french architect (again french people :))

Odaiba: the japanese croisette ;) 2

From Odaiba you can see the Rainbow bridge, and the Bay of Tokyo.
Odaiba represents for me the Japanese remix of New York City! In fact you found a Liberty Statue in the middle of nowhere: just crazy!

Why such a foreign influence in Japan? Why do they need to rebuild famous global places? There is for exemple a castle (Joel Robuchon) in Ebisu, I'll have to go there!

Just a wonderful day...
to be continued... ;)

Odaiba: the japanese croisette ;) 1

The JR station in Daiba is very modern and inlighted.

Odaiba is a place in Tokyo where there is a large beach... but you can't go swimming! At least there are people in strange swimming suits... hum hum no comment...

No it's wasn't raining! I've had "coups de soleil" (when you did burn at the sunlight... :( )

There was a beach volley competition!
Oh sorry you can't see it! I didn'T took the picture... This one was quite more "fabulous"!
Funny japanese...

As a contrast: Shinjuku, one of the entertainment place in Tokyo

Shinjuku is really different from Tokyo District and the Imperial Gardens. There are so many colos, so much noise coming from everywhere!
That's one of the funniest place in Tokyo. In this spirit, I'll make you discover Shibuya, and Harajuku.
How a brand can make the difference between all these ads? All these flashy colors? According to me, Marketing seems to be in Japan, one of the hardest thing to do! I bet I learn how to do that during my stay here!!!!
Japan is a world of consumption. Japanese are consumption addicts :)
They have to spend their money, I would have loved to have a lot of money hihi :D

An example of the shops we can find in Shinjuku, in particulary for young people.

Tokyo district: the heart of the city

That's like Central Park in New York: Crazy!!!
I've had a walk around the Imperial Gardens. At the beginning I thought it would be able to get closer to the Imperial Palace, but NO! In fact, I was with friends of mine, and we haven't seen nothing: what's a pity...

At least a little picture of the gardener house?! ;)

Yes... it's me... Mam, Dad, I'm really in Japan!

Welcome in my Japan Today's Project!

My Project

Mr William Swinton, our Japan Today's class teacher, asked us, as an assignment, to create a blog on anything we want, in order to make us discover Tokyo, Japan, its citizens, the japanese culture and language.

I've choose to focus my work on the major distric of Tokyo. Like that it allows me to discover Tokyo through my work. I will each week have a walk in Asakusa and Ginza or in Harajuku, Roppongi, Shibuya and Ueno for example. After each journey, I'll share my impressions and feelings through many photos. I'm really going to "experiment" every pieces of Tokyo's streets.

My "coups de coeur" of Tokyo will, I hope, make you discover Tokyo in an other more unique and particolar way.

Enjoy your webtrip !
